Well, hello Damsels,

My name is Marie, and I am the creator of Damsels in Derivatives. (Which makes me the original damsel if you will).
 
I created this site for anyone feeling overwhelmed by the world of finance. A year ago, I realized I knew nothing about finance and wanted to learn all about it. While there is so much information out in the world, and so many amazing people sharing it, it still felt like a big world of inaccessible and disjointed sources.

This feeling was partially a result of being a newbie, but more so of being a woman. Historically, women have been kept in the dark when it comes to finance whether that be by institutions or individuals. So, as I am sure you noticed from the title of the site, I wanted to create a space for women to learn about finance in a non-judgmental straightforward way.
 
There are thousands upon thousands of opinions when it comes to personal finance, and my goal is to lay them all out so that you can pick the take that works best for you. I want this site to be a space for women, but not one that is dumbed down or made girlie specifically because it is aimed at women.
 
With that in mind, no matter who you are, I am so honored that you have decided to visit this site. While the content is created to help woman overcome financial illiteracy, everyone is welcome here!

My goaI is for this site to be a one-stop shop for anyone looking to know more about finance in any capacity. However, please note that this is not a site of money secrets or tips on how to get rich quick. Instead, it is a compilation of how to understand finance and the world around it. 
 
So, welcome, and remember there is no power like knowledge.
